Transfer to the Hotel Rio Sagrado for a two night stay in a deluxe suite. On the way visit the colourful market of Pisac, and enjoy a delicious lunch at Hotel Rio Sagrado. In the afternoon, take a trip to the village of Ollantaytambo, an ancient fortress towering above the Sacred Valley. Enjoy the evening at leisure.

Visit the colonial village of Maras, known for its salt mine since before the Inca era.  Continue to Moray, a town noted for a large complex of unusual Inca ruins. These include several enormous terraced circular depressions that were perhaps used to study the effects of different climatic conditions on crops. 

Enjoy a picnic lunch prepared by your hotel, then journey to the city of Chincheros, built on the remains of a typical Inca settlement.

This morning, transfer to the train station of Ollanta from where you will travel to Machu Picchu via the panoramic Vistadome train. At midday the train will arrive in Aguas Calientes from where your guide will escort you to the majestic citadel of Machu Picchu by bus. 

After lunch take a private tour to experience the other-worldly magic of the sanctuary of Machu Picchu, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most outstanding archaeological wonders of the world.

Stay one night in a mountain view room at the Machu Picchu Sanctuary Lodge  the only hotel situated right next to the ruins.

Spend your morning at leisure enjoying the site of Machu Picchu. 

In the evening return to Aguas Calientes and travel on the Hiram Bingham train to Cuzco with a memorable dinner on board. Upon arrival at Poroy, a private transfer will take you back to Cuzco.
