Keswick Hall

Built as a private residence in 1912, this prime example of Italianate architecture, heightened by a rich golden hue, Keswick Hall proudly rests on 600-acres of lush Virginia countryside known as Keswick Estate.

Surrounded by informal and formal gardens and an eclectic collection of art work, the Hall's 44 guestrooms and 4 suites are each individually decorated in its own particular theme containing the cherished possessions of a family residence. The Keswick Club features an 18-hole Arnold Palmer signature golf course, indoor/outdoor pool, a fitness centre complete with spa, pro shop, a tavern, dining facilities and a tennis complex with a seasonal outdoor 25 meter lap pool.

Keswick's Exclusively Yours program is can be customized in every aspect to create your perfect private gathering.

Our pre-event consultation services will ensure that everything is perfect. From welcome amenities to baggage forwarding and from customised linens to specialised menus.

Day One: Arrival
Upon arrival at the hotel's porte cochere, each guest will be greeted with a welcome beverage in the Great Hall and personally escorted to their guestroom.

Commence the evening in casual attire by meeting friends and associates on the Main Terrace. Enjoy a favorite cocktail or a glass of wine from one of the finest local vintners while overlooking the scenic rolling hills of the Blue Ridge.

As the first night's gathering will be informal, a Tuscan style theme dinner with large banquet style table seating decorated with flowers, grapes and candles will no doubt add to the conversations under the stars in the Boxwood Gardens. A musical trio will add to the atmosphere.

Day Two:
After breakfast, each guest will partake in a scheduled sporting tournament of their choice, for instance golf on our 18-hole signature course, tennis on a combination of clay and hard surface courts, croquet and swimming in our 25 meter lap pool.

A light lunch will be served at the Keswick Club, followed by an awards ceremony for the tournament participants. The afternoon is free to explore nearby Charlottesville and its surroundings, with private tours available, or just relax in the luxurious style and comfort of Keswick Hall's public rooms replete with works of art, books and a warm welcoming atmosphere.

Near the sunset hour we will take you on a twenty minute journey to the nearby Barboursville vineyards. Luca Paschina, Winemaker extraordinaire, will captivate your imagination with a brief tour of the fermentation and bottling rooms followed by a lecture on the process of winemaking in the tasting room. Then, with the assistance of colleagues and newfound friends, your guests will be challenged with blending what their palate tells them to be a fine wine. Following the competition, a selection of gustatory delights of Virginia's finest fare will be served in the wood beamed dining room complimented by stimulating conversation and a spirit of camaraderie. During dessert, the Winemaker will present a case of wine to the winning team for the best-blended wine formula.

Day Three:
A bountiful breakfast buffet will be served at leisure in the main dining room and on the outdoor terrace.
For those early risers and true explorers, hot air balloon rides over the Estate and Virginia's lush landscape will be provided.

After breakfast, each guest will partake in a scheduled instructional class of their Choice, i.e. painting on canvas, pottery, and music (instrumental or vocal) with one of the area's many talented artists.

In the "Equestrian" world, central Virginia is recognized as "Horse Country" and as such is the home of some of America's finest horses and riders. Following the morning activities, guests will depart for a light lunch under a tent and experience the thrill of the jumper classic at your own private horse show.

Near the sunset hour we will take you on a fifteen-minute journey to Monticello, the home of Thomas Jefferson, author of the Declaration of Independence and third president of the United States, for a private tour.
Upon returning from Monticello, each guest will have time to prepare, costume et al, for a step back in time, for an evening with Jefferson.

Beverages and canapés presented butler style will be served in the Hall's public rooms and Great Hall before dinner.
This special offering is presented by wait staff in French period costume accompanied by live music of the era.

Day Four:
Brunch will be served from 10:30am until 12:30pm in the main dining room and on the outdoor terrace. Guests can exchange farewells at the last perfect gathering while at Keswick Hall.

Upon departure at the hotel's porte cochere, our attentive staff will bid each guest a fond farewell and personally escort them to the luxury sedans for scheduled departures to either Charlottesville or Richmond airports. Luggage will be forwarded separately.
