Northern Belle is a recreation of the spirit of adventure and style that surrounded the classic rail cruises of her namesake in the 1930’s. Today, Northern Belle is a ‘tourer’ par excellence, a modern classic. Furnished with the same intricate marquetry and glistening brass, as her sister trains, she travels throughout Britain to offer passengers journeys through stunning countryside in the style of a bygone era, with all modern comforts.
The mulberry and cream carriages of Northern Belle depart from more than 65 regional towns and cities including Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool, Birmingham, Newcastle, Edinburgh and Glasgow.
Northern Belle’s Grand Tour of Great Britain will be operating for its sixth season. This spectacular 7 day / 6 night all inclusive tour of Great Britain includes stopovers at flagship hotels in Edinburgh and Chester and a gala dinner at the Royal Yacht Britannia in Edinburgh. The Grand Tour departs from London on the 7th September and the price per person is £3250.
There have been a number of NEW destinations added to the Northern Belle programme for 2007 including:
• A cruise on Ullswater, the most beautiful lake in Cumbria. A guided coach tour unveils the dramatic scenery before embarking on a cruise on the lake. The trip departs on 7th June from Derby, Nottingham and Peterborough and costs £260 per person.
• A new ‘Fine Wines of the World’ themed trip gives guests the opportunity to enjoy a five course dinner, complemented by our Sommeliers choice of fine wines. This trip departs on 27th July from Coventry and Birmingham and 29th September from Liverpool and Manchester and costs £225 per person.
• Fans of Agatha Christie will revel in the new Murder Mystery Dinners. These special themed dinner trips include a delicious dinner whilst deducing ‘who dunnit’ from the events that unfold on the journey. The trip departs on 29th June from Bath and Bristol and 2nd November from Newcastle and Durham. The trip costs £190 per person
• Visit the capital city of London in style and enjoy a ‘flight’ on the London Eye, followed by a cruise on the River Thames and a guided tour of Tower Bridge. The trip departs on 30th June from Swansea and Cardiff and 14th July from Newcastle, Darlington, Durham and Doncaster and costs £260 per person.

The UK programme which includes 26 special steam hauled departures
The British Pullman with its vintage carriages and historical significance is a unique British thoroughbred. As an immaculate restoration, it represents an authentic opportunity to travel in the glamorous style of the art deco period. The British Pullman also plays an integral part in the world’s most romantic adventure – a journey from London to Venice or (vice versa) on the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express.
All British Pullman departures are from London Victoria with regular day trips to favourites like Bath, Cambridge, York and Brighton. Outings to special gardens such as Great Dixter and Wisley, stately homes like Beaulieu and Chatsworth and the sporting occasions of Cowes, the Grand National and Royal Ascot are also included in this year’s brochure.
The magical elegance of the Orient-Express is nowhere more clearly expressed than through 'The Dinner'. These glamorous evenings are the ultimate in pure social extravagance and as a result of last years popularity more dates have been added to the 2007 schedule. The Dinner departs on 27th January, 19th April, 24th May, 12th July, 30th August, 27th September, 13th October and 10th November. This glamorous evening trip is priced at £295 per person.
A number of exciting NEW excursions have been added to the British Pullman programme for 2007 including:
A nostalgic step back in time on a steam hauled trip to the old fashioned seaside town of Whitstable. Departing on the 27th July and 7th September, this trip offers the chance to explore this popular coastal town and its old fisherman’s huts, the harbour, art galleries or a stroll along the beach. This trip costs £350 per person.
As English wines become ever more popular, wine enthusiasts will enjoy a unique trip to Tenterden Vineyard. This trip departs on the 13th July and 24th August and gives guests the opportunity to visit the largest winery in the country which is home Chapel Down Wines. The trip includes a tour of the vineyard and winery and the chance to sample some of their delicious produce. This trip costs £260 per person.
A trip to the vibrant city of Exeter, departing on the 13th September is a welcome addition to the schedule. Price per person is £320 and includes brunch with bucks fizz on the outward journey, a walking tour of Exeter, including a visit to the beautiful Cathedral and dinner with champagne and wine on the return journey.
Due to their popularity, departures from Plymouth and Exeter have been once again included in the schedule. The British Pullman will operate a lunch trip from Plymouth and a dinner trip from Exeter on the 7th July and are priced at £205 per person.
The brochure also highlights four weekend breaks offered onboard the Northern Belle and British Pullman. The weekend trips give guests the opportunity to enjoy a return journey on either the Northern Belle or British Pullman as it transports them to their destination. Guests will have two nights at a hotel in the carefully selected destinations of the Lake District, Cornwall and Edinburgh. Prices for a weekend break start from £675 per person.
