Penang Poster

Commissioned especially for the Eastern & Oriental Express this poster shows
Penang, the oldest British settlement in Malaysia. 

Penang lies 370km from Kuala Lumpur on Malaysia’s northwestern coast and is reached by a 15 minute ferry ride from Butterworth to Georgetown, the capital of Penang Island.  

The hills of Cameron Highlands can be seen in the background of this poster.  They are best known for the high quality and quantity of tea produced in this area.

The style is influenced by posters created for Malaysian Railways in the period of the 1920’s and 30’s.
