Maun serves as the gateway to Northern Botswana and is the nearest international airport to Orient-Express Safari camps.  Maun is served by daily flights from Johannesburg and thrice weekly flights from Cape Town, both operated by Air Botswana.  From Maun, Orient-Express Safaris is served by private inter camp flights operated by our partner air charter company, Mack Air.

The camps can be reached via direct flights from Livingstone Airport in Zambia, which are also operated by our partner Mack Air.

Orient-Express Safaris also operates its own private air charter service from Johannesburg’s Lanseria Airport.  The flight departs Lanseria twice weekly, on a Tuesday and Friday, direct to Khwai River Lodge.  All flights are via Francistown where passengers clear immigration and customs formalities before continuing on, either to the camp or to Lanseria.

Aircraft
Mack Air uses a variety of aircraft suited to operating in remote areas, these include Cessna 206’s and 210’s, Cessna Grand Caravans, a PC12 and a Chieftain.

Flying Times
Guests are collected from either from Maun Airport or Kasane Airport and transferred by our preferred air charter company, Mack Air, to our various camps and then transferred back to either Maun or Kasane.
