Background: After substantial training in some of his native France’s most respected restaurants and a quick stint in Gambia at the Coconut Residence, Chef Daniel Echasseriau has spent most of his career cooking in several of the Caribbean’s most prestigious properties, including Glitter Bay in Barbados. He is the winner of the prestigious 2006 “Taste of the Caribbean” Gold Medal in Miami. Flora Springs Winery & Vineyards dates back 30 years when Jerry and Flora Komes bought their first vineyard in the Napa Valley. They christened it Flora Springs after Flora and the water source on the property. Their retirement project became a lifetime passion for son John Komes and daughter Julie Garvey and their families. Over the years, Flora Springs acquired an additional eight unique vineyards and planted almost 650 acres of vineyards in eight separate locations. 70 percent of their fruit is sold to other wineries while a selection is used for Flora Springs, producing a wide array of wines. The grapes for Trilogy, their signature wine, came from their estate vineyard, the Komes Ranch, which surrounds Flora Springs. |
