Lake Inle |
4 days/3 nights This enchanting stretch of water is famous for its floating gardens, markets and leg-rowing fishermen.
Day 1
Fly to Heho. Check into your hotel, nestled on the edge of Inle Lake, and visit Shwe Yan Pyay monastery. After lunch explore the magnificent ruins of Indaing on the west bank. Relax over dinner at your hotel.
Day 2
Spend an unforgettable day at Inle Lake admiring the skill of the Intha leg rowers. Explore Nga Phe Kyaung Monastery, known for its jumping cats, and Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda, the holiest site in the southern Shan state. Lunch is served at a local restaurant, and dinner is at your hotel.
Day 3
Travel through hills studded with pine trees, until you reach Taunggyi, the capital of the southern Shan state. Wander round the local market and visit a cheroot cigar factory. Lunch is served at a local restaurant; afterwards wander through the ancient ruins of Kakku. Dinner awaits at your hotel.
Day 4
Transfer to Heho airport in the morning, for your onward flight to Yangon.
