6 November 2013 - On Wednesday 13th November 2013, after 25 years, 70 episodes, 84 hours of television and a ‘Murder on the Orient-Express’, ITV’s adaptation of Agatha Christie’s Hercule Poirot, starring David Suchet, is to be broadcast for the last time. To celebrate the end of this much loved TV adaptation, those booking a journey on the luxury UK day trains, the British Pullman or Northern Belle, before 31st March 2014, will receive ‘The Definitive Collection of Agatha Christie’s Poirot’ on DVD to commemorate 25 years of David Suchet as Poirot.

23 September 2013 – Orient-Express Hotels Ltd. has announced the opening of a new restaurant at Copacabana Palace in Rio de Janeiro, fronted by celebrity chef Ken Hom. Work on the 88-seat pan-Asian eatery, which has not yet been named, began last month as the world-famous hotel celebrated its 90th anniversary.
23 September 2013 – The iconic Copacabana Palace marked its 90th anniversary this summer, transporting guests back to its glamorous heyday with a series of exciting celebrations from 18th July – 4th September. Rio de Janiero’s most luxurious hotel, Copacabana Palace opened in August 1923 on the legendary Copacabana Beach. 15 August 2013 - This November, Michelin-starred chef and restaurateur, Raymond Blanc, will host a dinner for 100 guests on board luxury UK day train, the Northern Belle, sister train to the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express and the British Pullman. This event is part of a series of ‘pop-up’ dinners on board the British Pullman and Northern Belle throughout 2013 and 2014, hosted by some of the UK’s most celebrated chefs. On 2 November 2013, after a champagne reception on the platform, the Northern Belle will depart from Manchester’s Victoria Station. The train, with its décor evoking the opulent ‘Belle’ trains of the 1930s, will travel through beautiful countryside whilst guests are served a specially created seven course menu, accompanied by the sommelier’s choice of fine wines. Raymond will be joined in the kitchen by his onetime apprentice, Robbie Gleeson, Executive Head Chef for the UK Day Trains, as well as the Northern Belle’s Head Chef, Alex Dobson.
