SUMMARY
Day 1
Upon arrival in Cuzco, we have arranged reception and transfer to the Hotel Monasterio, the hallowed colonial San Antonio Abad seminary, built more than 300 years ago. You will be welcomed with a cup of hot coca tea and escorted to your Deluxe Oxygenated Room for a two night stay.
In the afternoon embark on a fascinating tour of the city of Cuzco. You will discover millenary buildings such as the Cathedral and the Qoricancha (Temple of the Sun) and the amazing ancient neighborhood of San Blas.
Day 2
We have arranged a private transfer for a full day at the Sacred Valley, starting at the city of Chincheros, which still has the infrastructure of a typical Inca town. Afterwards, savor an exquisite lunch at the Huayocari house, where you can have a wonderful view of the valley.
To continue this magical journey you will travel up the valley to Ollantaytambo, the last Inca town that still retains its original architecture. Spend your evening at leisure.
Day 3
Transfer to the train station to take the Hiram Bingham train journey to Machu Picchu which includes brunch on the train. The landscape changes from the high plateau of Chinchero, to the impressive Urubamba river canyon to the spectacular slopes of the Vilcabamba mountains. Upon arrival a short bus trip takes you up to the Lost City of the Incas.
Enjoy a guided tour of this ancient citadel, followed by a typical English afternoon tea. At the hotel dinner is included at the Tampu restaurant. Overnight in a wonderful room with a terrace and view to the mountains at the Sanctuary Lodge.
Day 4
Morning at leisure in Machu Picchu. Enjoy a delicious buffet lunch at the Tampu restaurant at the Sanctuary Lodge. In the late afternoon return to Cusco via the Hiram Bingham train which includes a special cocktail plus dinner. Upon arrival, transfer back to the Hotel Monasterio for one night in a Deluxe Oxygen-enriched Room.
Day 5
Morning at leisure in Cuzco. In the afternoon you will take a private transfer to the Sacsayhuaman fortress located 1.24 miles north of the city of Cusco. This 3,000 acre sanctuary was built by the Incas with massive stones that fit perfectly with each other.
You will then take a guided tour to the nearby ruins of Quenqo, Puca Pucara and Tambomachay, which will be an unforgettable experience.
Day 6
Breakfast at leisure then transfer to Cusco airport.
