2nd SEPTEMBER 2008 - As a result of the political protests currently taking place in Thailand, a number of airports, including Phuket and Krabi, have been temporarily closed and disruptions to rail services in certain regions are also occurring.
Understanding that visitors may experience difficulties travelling within Thailand over the next few days, Napasai, the luxury resort in Koh Samui, has announced that it will waive any cancellation charges for guests who find themselves unable to travel to Koh Samui at this time.
Napasai is working with local travel agencies and tour operators to contact guests and enable them rearrange their travel arrangements should they be affected.
Orient-Express also operates the Eastern & Oriental Express – a luxury sleeper train that travels between Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand. At present, there are no guests travelling on the train, as it is undergoing a break in service for planned maintenance work. The train will be returning to operation on 11th September.
Further updates will follow.
