A MEETING WITH THE PERFUME OF A LEGEND |
| 05 May 2009 CHANEL has chosen to produce its latest advertisement for the famous perfume N°5 within the opulent setting of the iconic Venice Simplon-Orient-Express. The eagerly awaited short film will be revealed on 5th May 2009. The making of this film was entrusted to the French director, Jean-Pierre Jeunet, who presents French actress Audrey Tautou as the newly appointed face of CHANEL N°5. Jean-Pierre Jeunet wanted to recreate the charm of a romantic meeting over the mythical perfume N°5 aboard the legendary Venice Simplon-Orient-Express, “I always liked the mystery and intrigue of trains: the relaunch of CHANEL N˚5 was the ideal occasion to create a meeting suspended in time.” In the film, a man played by the model Travis Davenporte, falls in love with the perfume worn by a woman, played by Audrey Tautou, whilst travelling aboard the romantic Venice Simplon-Orient-Express. In the mist of her lingering scent, the man finds the woman’s cabin but does not dare disturb her. Arriving in the vibrant city of Istanbul, the final destination of the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express, they lose sight of each other only to be re-united thanks to the unique fragrance of CHANEL N°5. Throughout the new advertising campaign, the timeless and seductive power of CHANEL N°5 is combined with the sensual and refined world of the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express.
