Itinerary
Tuesday: Singapore
Transfer to your hotel, The Mandarin Oriental Hotel with Premier Ocean View room for a two night stay.

Wednesday: Singapore
This city is full of energy and grand historical echoes, a true crossroads of Chinese, Indian and Western culture. There is much to see and do - beautiful botanical gardens, museums, galleries and, of course, shopping, which is almost a national pastime.

Thursday: Eastern & Oriental Express
Depart Singapore in the morning, enjoying the passing scenery as the train crosses the Straits of Johor. Lunch is served in one of the opulent restaurant cars. Dress for the evening and enjoy listening to the resident pianist in the bar car before dinner. In Kuala Lumpur, where the train stops for a short while, you may disembark for a stroll to admire the Moorish-style station.

Friday: Eastern & Oriental Express
Breakfast in your compartment before a late-morning arrival in Butterworth. Cross by coach on the local ferry to Penang Island. Your visit includes a trip to Chulia Street wet market for a walking tour, and a trishaw ride. Return to the train for lunch and relax with a visit to the observation car, before dinner and a final night on board.

Saturday: Bangkok
Arrive at the River Kwai Bridge station, where you disembark for a cruise on the river on board a local raft. During the cruise a local historian provides a brief overview of the history of the Thailand-Burma railway and the bridge. Disembark for a visit to the Thailand-Burma Railway Centre and, for those who wish, the Don-Rak War cemetery. Rejoin the train for lunch, arriving in Bangkok in the afternoon for a three night stay at the Peninsula Hotel, Deluxe room.

Sunday - Monday: Bangkok
Half-day city and temples tour on a day of your choice.

Tuesday: Hanoi
Flights to Hanoi for three nights. Classic Deluxe room at Sofitel Metropole including daily breakfast and one dinner at the Spice Garden. Half-day city tour of the Presidential Palace (exterior), botanical gardens and Temple of Literature. Evening visit to water puppet theatre followed by dinner.

Wednesday: Hanoi
Half-day city tour - Cyclo ride from hotel to old quarter, visit Ngoc Son temple and Hoan Kiem lake, free time for shopping.

Thursday: Hanoi
Full-day excursion to Halong Bay with lunch cruise ( optional overnight on the Emeraude Cruise - please ask for details).

Friday: Hue
Morning flight to Hue for two nights. Deluxe room at La Residence including daily breakfast and one dinner. Late afternoon visit to the Royal Citadel and Imperial City.

Saturday:
Full-day’s sightseeing including a boat trip on the Perfume river, a visit to Thien Mu pagoda, Khai Dinh’s tomb and the tomb of Ming Mang – the finest of the Imperial tombs. Lunch at the Ancient Hue restaurant.

Sunday: Hoi An
Transfer to Hoi An by road. For two nights at the Life Resort (Junior suite with river view).

Monday: Hoi An
Full-day visit to Hoi An with lunch at Brother’s Café. (Please ask for details if you would prefer to relax at the Nam Hai Resort.)

Tuesday: Ho Chi Minh (Saigon)
Vietnam Airlines flight from Danang to Ho Chi Minh (Saigon). Two nights Park Hyatt hotel. Park room. Half-day city tour: Presidential Palace, China Town and Thien Hao pagoda. Dinner at Au Manoir restaurant.

Wednesday: Cao Dai
Full-day excursion to Tay Ninh and the great temple of the Cao Dai, followed by Cu Chi Tunnels, with lunch at a local resturant and later dinner at the Temple Club.
