Mount Nelson Hotel recognises that individuals travelling alone may have special needs and require specific facilities. The following are just a few ways we aim to make travelling alone as safe, inspiring and exciting as possible.
Personal Security
Safety and security is paramount, particularly when it comes to female travellers.
• Where possible, we allow our guests to select rooms in areas of the hotel where they feel most comfortable.
• The hotel employs a private security company and our Security Manager is available to help guests with any queries or assistance they may require.
• State of the art surveillance cameras cover all areas of the hotel and grounds, and superior door-locking systems are installed, as well as safety deposit boxes in every bedroom.
• A chaperone or chauffeur can be arranged should guests wish to be accompanied during their stay in Cape Town.
Getting Around
• Cape Town’s city centre is best explored on foot, and some of the best shopping and sightseeing is literally on Mount Nelson Hotel’s doorstep. Guest Services will happily assist with arranging itineraries and walking tours to help guests get the most out of exploring the immediate neighbourhood -particularly the culturally rich Long Street, Kloof Street, St. Georges Mall, Greenmarket Square and the Company Gardens.
• For shopping excursions to the V&A Waterfront, and other destinations within ten kilometres of the hotel, guests are invited to use the hotel’s complimentary shuttle service.
• Complimentary transfers are available within a 10km radius of the hotel as well as to the Cape Town International Convention Centre and corporate offices in the central city.
Staying Connected
All rooms at Mount Nelson Hotel are equipped with High Speed Internet Access points together with wireless ‘hotspots’. Internet vouchers are obtainable from the Concierge Desk at a cost of ZAR 50 per half hour; ZAR 100 per hour and ZAR 225 per 24 hour of internet access. A 7-day access voucher is also available upon request.
