Visitors are advised not to drink water from the tap: visitors should drink bottled water. Visitors are also advised not to buy food from the street vendors.

Tips
In restaurants, the tip is automatically included in the bill, therefore it is not necessary to leave anything additional. Taxi drivers do not expect to be tipped.

Banks and Money Changers
The best banks are to be found along Avenida el Sol. Banking can be time-consuming and banks are only open during business hours and on weekdays.

Many travel agencies and casas de cambio change dollars. Some will also change traveller's cheques but charge four to five percent commission. You can withdraw dollars or soles from the ATMs along Av el Sol.
