A passion for Pearls and Oysters - Friday 13th NovemberDiamonds may well be a girl’s best friend - but pearls are her first love. Pearls are cool and refined and oysters are the "food of love".
Join us for this fabulous evening, pick up a few “pearls of wisdom” along the way and sample oysters selected by Raymond Blanc. Chrissie Douglas is the designer and driving force behind the flourishing and vibrant international pearl jewellery brand Coleman Douglas Pearls.
Opening in September 1989 as a design studio specialising in Natural and Cultured pearls, her aim has always been to offer an investment in style and value by utilising her expert pearl knowledge coupled with an excellent network of suppliers.
In 1994 she was crowned the ‘Pearl Queen’ in the Financial Times ‘How to Spend It’ magazine. She is now acknowledged as a leading authority in the field of pearls. Her expertise enables her to select and obtain the most appropriate pearls for the unique and innovative pearl jewellery that she creates for her diverse range of clients including celebrities such as Jerry Hall, Kristen Scott Thomas, Bette Midler and Amelia Fox.
During the evening we will look at what is a pearl, the different types of pearl and where they come from and what gives us such diversity of prices. Finally Chrissie will tell us how to choose pearls to enhance our own skin tone and importantly how to look after them.
To accompany such luxury, oysters will be served with Ruinart Champagne and canapés, before a 4-course dinner created by Raymond Blanc. Accompanying wines have been selected for this lavish occasion and the evening will be Black Tie.
