Machu Picchu (the Lost City of the Incas) is one of the most famous examples of Inca architecture, and is located 112 km from the city of Cuzco (a three and a half hour train journey away), 2,350 meters above sea level.
The ruins are located in a lush jungle and are believed to have been built in the mid-15th century by Inca Pachacutec. Lost in history, it was not discovered until 1911 by the American explorer Hiram Bingham.
Machu Picchu is a place of unforgettable sunrises and magical moonlit nights - located at the top of Aguas Calientes, in the heart of the valley of the Incas. Enjoy the remains of the ancient culture of this unique place, considered part of Peru's and the world's cultural heritage. |
