Walks & Nature |
The promontory of Portofino is a regional park of great natural beauty, a paradise for walkers, hikers and picnikers. There are ancient walking path leading through olive groves, vineyards up to chestnuts forest, which have served the local inhabitants for hundreds of year.
With the estabilishment of the regional park the principal paths have been improved and marked with red symbols. Intersections have direction signs: large maps show the overall network of trails. Enjoy dreamy romantic walks along the breathtaking coastline and through the tumbling, tropical gardens down to the fashionable harbour.
Our concierge can suggest you a number of itineraries that begin with a short walk from the hotel into Portofino, ranging from an hour walk to excursions that fill the whole day. All may be done in tennis or running shoes. The walks are extracted from the book 'The Walker in Portofino' by Malcom Spector, a small guide exclusively available to guests of Hotel Splendido.
