Shopping

As well as a wide range of high street retailers, Perth boasts numerous specialists shops and local markets that rank it amongst the top shopping destinations in Scotland.

In the pedestrianised High Street and St John's Shopping Centre, expect to find all the major brands. Throughout the attractive surrounding streets however, there will be many pleasant surprises for you, including fashionable boutiques, respectable antique shops, and delicious food stores.

If you intend to shop in Perth however, your trip must include a visit to Scotland's oldest department store, McEwens. Regarded as the highland home of ladies and mens fashion, McEwens has a fantastic range of cosmetics, luggage, leather goods, linens, lingerie, clothes, electricals and cookwear, aswell as a nationally renowned restaurant and coffee shop.

Perth also offers a variety of excellent open air markets on King Edward Street in the city centre. From the regular Farmer's and Gardener's markets, to the more occasional Continental Markets, the items on offer are not to be missed. On Tay Street, there are also Arts and Crafts shows and markets where local artists and craftsmen ply their trade.
