Visit Luang Prabang, Laos' second city, the jewel of Indochina, stands alongside the mighty Mekong River and the Khan River. Its beautifully painted temples are a complete contrast to many others of South East Asia in that they are still places of worship and learning for monks and scholars.
In the centre of the city is Mount Phousi with stunning views of the surrounding temples and hills, much of which forms a peninsula between the rivers. In between temple visits, there are many small restaurants perched high on the banks of the Mekong where you can watch life go by at a very slow pace. It is a city where time seems to stand still.
Itinerary
Day One
Fly from Bangkok to Luang Prabang and transfer to La Résidence Phou Vao for three nights in a Mountain View Room. Enjoy a taste of Laotian cuisine tonight in the hotels attractive restaurant.
Dinner
Day Two
Your private guide will meet you at the hotel this morning and take you on a full day of city sightseeing, visiting Phousi Hill with its fine view of the city, the Royal Palace and, after lunch at a local restaurant, fine temples with a unique style, which are found throughout the city. There will also be a chance to visit the splendid night market before returning to the hotel for dinner.

Day Three
Today, visit the most important temple,Wat Xieng Thong, before boarding a boat for a ride on the Mekong to the Pak Ou caves, where countless images of Buddha are to be found. Cross the Mekong to lunch at a local restaurant before visiting Ban Xanghai where local rice wine is made. On the return to Luang Prabang a stop will be made at Ban Phanom village, well known for hand weaving and local handicrafts. Enjoy a final dinner with a chance to reflect on your visit to Luang Prabang.

Transfer to the airport and the return flight to Bangkok.
