Why is my Visa card being rejected when I try to purchase tickets online?
One of the reasons that you card may be being rejected is due to the 'Verified by Visa' service which PeruRail uses for online transactions. This service is in place to give you peace of mind by adding an additional level of security to your online purchases.
Cardholders must subscribe to the service by visiting their bank website. During the process some questions will be made to the cardholders, for safety reasons; after that the cardholders must select a password to validate their own transactions and will agree a phrase as a personal guaranteed message for the bank to authorize and to proceed with the purchasing.
Once you have signed up to the 'Verified by Visa' service you should be able to proceed with your online booking. |
I would like to travel on the route between Cuzco and Lake Titicaca (Puno) but I cannot find availability.
The Andean Explorer train which services this route does not run daily.
Between November and March: The train runs on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday
Between April and October: The train runs on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday
Please ensure when searching availability that you are looking on an appropriate day.
I want to travel on the Hiram Bingham on a Sunday but I cannot find availability.
The Hiram Bingham train does not run on a Sunday. If you wish to travel on this train, you will need to travel Monday - Saturday.
