Your Journey | Board the British Pullman and settle into your luxurious carriage and enjoy a delicious brunch with Bellini as you journey outbound. On arrival a road coach with transfer you from the station to Hardwick Hall; one of the most significant Elizabethan country houses in England.
A conspicuous statement of the wealth and power of Bess of Hardwick; the second richest woman in the country after Elizabeth I. In common with its architect Robert Smythson's other works at both Longleat House and Wollaton Hall, Hardwick Hall is one of the earliest examples of the English interpretation of the Renaissance style of architecture, which came into fashion when it was no longer thought necessary to fortify one's home.
Explore the house and gardens taking in the outstanding 16th and 17th-century tapestries and embroideries, Fine historic parklands, orchard and herb garden to explore with rare breeds of cattle and sheep.
Transfer back to the station and reboard the British Pullman, enjoy a five course dinner with wine and champagne as you journey home.
