Your Journey | Blenheim Palace was built by Vanbrugh in recognition of the victory of the first Duke of Malborough over the French. The gilded staterooms contain fine paintings, furniture and tapestries and the bedroom where Sir Winston was born forms part of the Churchill Exhibition. The magnificent 2,000 acre park was landscaped by Capability Brown.
A delicious brunch with Bellini is served on the outward journey.
On arrival at Oxford you are met by your guide who accompanies you on the coach transfer to Blenheim Palace. At Blenheim Palace, you are taken on a guided tour (approximately one hour) of the magnificent rooms filled with beautiful furniture, sculptures and paintings. After your tour explore the Water Terraces and grounds at your leisure. Rejoin the Northern Belle for your return journey.
A glass of chilled champagne is served as soon as you board the train. This is followed by a sumptuous dinner accompanied by half a bottle of wine. |
What to Wear | Smart day wear is appropriate. You are asked not to wear jeans or trainers. Please remember you will be outdoors for part of your time at Blenheim Palace.
