By late afternoon, the Ligurian coast appears. The train stops in Santa Margherita Ligure, where a transfer whisks you to Portofino for an elegant evening by the sea, where pastel buildings meet timeless charm. That night, the journey continues north under the stars. Sip a cocktail in the Bar Car, enjoy live music, or drift to sleep in your private cabin. At dawn, Venice greets you - La Serenissima rising from the water, majestic and mysterious. After breakfast, a private transfer from Santa Lucia Station takes you onward, with unforgettable memories in tow.

Day 1

Your journey begins at Rome Ostiense's La Dolce Vita Orient Express Lounge, where a private transfer has brought you directly from the airport or your hotel in Rome. From here, it's time to step aboard La Dolce Vita Orient Express. As the train pulls away, settle into your cabin before heading to the Restaurant Car for an exquisite lunch crafted by three-Michelin-starred chef Heinz Beck - a celebration of Italy’s finest flavors. The scenery shifts gently from the heart of Rome, to the rolling Tuscan hills, and finally to the coastline of Liguria. By 6pm, arrive at Santa Margherita Ligure, where a transfer awaits to take you to the charming town of Portofino. Spend the evening wandering on your own or choose an à la carte experience to discover hidden corners of this stunning seaside town. In the evening, back on board to enjoy drinks and a live music in the Bar Car as the train glides into the night, wrapping your perfect first day.

Day 2

Begin your morning with breakfast served in the comfort of your cabin or in the elegant Restaurant Car, as the train moves through northern Italy’s tranquil dawn. The final stretch of the journey unfolds peacefully, leading you toward the shimmering canals of Venice. By 10:30am, La Dolce Vita Orient Express arrives at Venezia Santa Lucia station, where a private transfer awaits. Whether continuing your Italian escape or pausing to reflect on the magic of the past two days, the memories made - of fine food, sea air, and effortless travel - linger long after the journey ends.
