Rome to Venice via Tuscany

The adventure begins in Rome, where ancient ruins and bustling piazzas set the stage for an unforgettable journey. Leaving behind the vibrant streets, the route gently unfolds into the rolling hills of Tuscany, an ever-changing landscape of vineyards, olive groves, and charming countryside. The journey continues to Siena, a city suspended in time. Here, the narrow streets wind toward the breathtaking Piazza del Campo, where centuries of history mingle with the vibrant life of the present. As night falls, the road leads onward through the quiet Italian countryside. After a brief rest, the journey resumes at dawn, drawing closer to the iconic waterways of Venice. Arriving by morning, the city reveals its ethereal beauty: gliding gondolas, shimmering reflections, and timeless architecture invite exploration and wonder. This journey offers a fleeting yet deep immersion into the heart and soul of Italy, weaving together its historic grandeur and poetic landscapes in just two unforgettable days.

Day 1

Your experience begins with a private transfer from the airport or your hotel in Rome to the La Dolce Vita Orient Express lounge, tucked inside Rome Ostiense Station, where you can unwind before departure. At 11:30am, the train begins its journey into the heart of Tuscany. As the landscape unfolds beyond your window, lunch is served on board, a beautifully composed menu by 3-Michelin-starred Chef Heinz Beck, inspired by both the land and the season’s finest ingredients. By early afternoon, the train arrives near Siena, a city where time seems to slow. Enjoy free time to explore its winding alleys and grand piazzas, or take part in a curated à la carte experience designed to immerse you in the city’s art, history, or flavours. As the sun begins to set, step back on board. The train departs once again, continuing its journey to Venice. Dinner is served in the elegant dining car: a multi-course culinary experience that captures the spirit of Italian tradition with bold imagination, followed by a live music performance with a pianist and singer in the Bar Car, as the train moves gently into the night.

Day 2

Wake to the quiet rhythm of the train and begin your morning with breakfast, served in the comfort of your cabin or in the Restaurant Car, as the train crosses the final stretch toward the Adriatic. At 10:30am, La Dolce Vita Orient Express arrives at Venezia Santa Lucia Station, a spectacular entrance into a city unlike any other. Whether you're continuing your journey through Venice or heading homeward, you depart with the lingering charm of a voyage steeped in elegance, discovery, and the quiet wonder of slow travel.
